a) The Cornwall Butterfly and Moth Society PhD Studentship
The Cornwall Butterfly and Moth Society PhD Studentship will be carried out over four years and will commence in April 2019. This project will not only investigate the importance of mine sites for butterflies, moths and bees but will also examine how to integrate the mine sites with the Buglife's B-Line pathways project. Details of Buglife’s project and the University project can be obtained by speaking to our Secretary Keith Wilson. CBMS has agreed to give grants totalling worth £27,000 (including Gift Aid) to Exeter University for the research. It is anticipated that this money will not be taken from our reserves but will be donated over the next four years by some of our members and other supporters. CBMS has already received firm commitments to donate £25,000 of this money.

b) Buglife's B-Line Pathway Project in Cornwall
This project will be explained at our AGM.

c) Drone and Heat Sensor Project
This is an Exeter University Project but is funded by CBMS. £500 has been taken from our reserves to enable the university to make an early start with this research project which involves the use of drones and heat sensors. Details of this project can also be obtained by speaking to our Secretary. Additional funding has been given to the University by one of our members to fund the remaining costs of the project.

d) Drone 3D Imaging Project
A further project is being planned for 2019 and this will involve the use of a drone to produce 3D images of our conservation site at Trelusback. It is hoped that this project will enable the conservation work to be planned more precisely than is normally possible.
