We are pleased to invite you to a BBQ and optional Butterfly Walks day at Trelusback on Saturday, 19th August 2017, 11:00am Trelusback Farm, Penhalvean, Redruth, TR16 6TQ.

We're pleased to invite you and your family/ friends to attend our picnic and butterfly/moth event which includes optional walks around the Trelusback conservation areas. Attending the event or part of the event is at your own risk therefore if you fall in the lake please don’t blame me! (The water is very deep!) Sensible clothing, sun cream, hats and boots are recommended. If you are going on any of the walks please beware of hidden rabbit holes in the fields particularly within 15 yards of the boundaries/hedges. (Health and Safety talk will be given)

Please bring your own picnic to enjoy by the lake or in one of the barns if you prefer. No glass please.

We will meet at 10-30am followed by an optional walk at 11-00am (around the lake) but you are welcome to arrive later and leave when you wish. Experienced and friendly volunteers from Cornwall Butterfly and Moth Society will be leading the walks during which you should see a variety of butterflies, moths, birds, dragonflies etc.

Our second walk which is around the woodland and meadows will take place immediately after the picnic. This walk is also optional.

There is a downstairs toilet at the house which you are welcome to use and tea/coffee will be provided free of charge. (please help yourself). In the event of heavy and prolonged rain the picnic will be held under cover. We have a small number of picnic tables/chairs available for those who need them.

Trelusback Farm, Penhalvean (shown on the OS map as Trelusback at grid reference SW712384) is about half a mile from the western end of Stithians Lake and about halfway between Stithians and Redruth. The postcode TR16 6TQ will get you to a post box and red telephone box at the end of the driveway to Trelusback. Proceed from Penhalvean 300 yards down this driveway and the barn/yard we are using is about 200 yards after the sand school and bungalow. Parking will be provided.

For more detailed directions or if you get lost please ‘phone Keith on 01209-860298 or 07972-376982.
