Dear Members and Friends,
We have been asked to help with conservation work at Penhale Sands to ensure the survival of the Grizzled Skipper in Cornwall. This is the only site in Cornwall where this butterfly is still to be found. Please volunteer to help remove invasive blackthorn which is threatening the habitat. Just a few hours of your time could make a big difference. Thursday, 18th October, Penhale Sands, meet at the ref SW774553 TR4 9PN in the lay-by on the edge of road opposite the turning to Rose village at 10am. This will be a work party helping Jon Cripps the Cornwall Wildlife Trust Ranger to clear Blackthorn from the endangered Grizzled Skippers area. Jon has some loppers and saws but other tools would be appreciated. Gloves are recommended. For further details and directions contact Leon Abbott 01726 76796. Please help! Non-members such as your friends, family or work colleagues will be very welcome.
