​How Can I Shape My Community?

How can you help to shape your community? A timely exploration of local participation and democracy, making sense of structures which are already in place. Dr Joanie Willett of the University of Exeter will be leading this workshop investigating what community means and how we can be active members of our own communities, bringing about the change we want to see.

Cornish Studies Until Dusk

Monday 26 August 3.00-7.00 pm, Treverbyn Community Hall, St Austell, PL26 8TL

This rich and varied event will provide an introduction to Cornish Studies. Dr Garry Tregidga of the University of Exeter will be talking about Cornish symbols of identity, cultural memory and the political history of Cornwall. He will be joined by Matt Blewett, who will be sharing his current research on civic society and the marks left by the landscape on Cornish cultural heritage. There will be the opportunity to learn some Cornish.
