Five members of the CBMS visited Cabilla Woods on 20th July 2019, from 1100 to 1430, in good weather conditions - calm, sunny and warm. We followed the riverside track and recorded the following - 72x Silver-washed Fritillary, 41x Meadow Brown, 18x Ringlet, 10x Green-veined White, 5x Speckled Wood, 5x Gatekeeper, 2x Small White, 2x Comma, 2x Red Admiral, 2x Peacock, 2x Purple Hairstreak, 1x Holly Blue, 2x Golden-ringed Dragonfly, 1x SilverY and 1x Common Footman.

Thirteen enthusiasts attended the meeting at Cabilla Wood on Sunday 14th July 2019, from 1000 to 1415, in warm - 20oC- with sunny patches and calm conditions. We recorded 57x Silver-washed Fritillary, 28x Ringlet, 8x Meadow Brown, 5x Red Admiral, 5x Speckled Wood, 5x Gatekeeper, 4x Green-veined White, 3x Small White, 3x Comma, 3x Brimstone, 2x Holly Blue, 2x Small Skipper, 1x Peacock, 1x Silver Y, 2x Golden-ringed Dragonfly, 1x female Broad-bodied Chaser and 1x female Black-tailed Skimmer.

Its amazing to see a massive influx of Painted Lady. We saw a total of 100++ Painted Lady, 24x Silver-studded Blue, 5x Common Blue, 16x Meadow Brown, 7x Large Skipper, 3x Small Tortoiseshell, 1x Red Admiral, 1x Small Heath, 1x Hummingbird Hawk Moth and other moths that's need to be yet identified, North Cornwall Coast - Rob and Rowena Nicholls

‪After watching a Painted Lady land in my Moth Trap at 00:10 hrs this morning, we decided to look on the Coast at Polly Joke near Newquay and found 200-300 over the fields.‬ Also Silver-studded Blue, Dark Green Fritillary, etc - David Allan

Fieldtrip report from Pullabrook Woods/Drakeford Bridge, Bovey Valley Woodlands, Dartmoor, Devon followed by Aish Tor, near Ashburton by Dave Gibbon
Tamar to Pullabrook Wood, Great Plantation and Aish Tor, we saw 11 species of Butterfly, 4 Moths and 2 Dragonflies positively identified.  One White Admirals was seen briefly at Great Plantation. At Aish Tor, we had good views of several freshly emerged High Brown Fritillaries nectaring on bramble under the carefully managed bracken. The other butterflies seen were Comma, Meadow Brown, Speckled Wood, Red Admiral, Brimstone, Small Heath, Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary, Green Hairstreak and Holly Blue.
