Join us on our 2022 Annual General Meeting
of Cornwall Butterfly and Moth Society
at Fraddon Village Hall on Sunday, 20 March 2022.
​Everyone is welcome to attend. Please save the date.
10:00am - Tea/coffee

10:30am - Election of Chairman of AGM
(David Conway has been proposed by the Trustees)

10:35am - Trustees’ Annual Report and Accounts

10:45am - Election of Trustees
Simon Toft and Adrian Spalding have to retire by rotation and are seeking re-election.  Russ Hemmings has to retire by rotation but has decided not to seek re-election. Our thanks to Russ for his service to CBMS in recent years. Any other members who wish to seek election to serve as a Trustee must advise the Secretary before the AGM. 

11:00am - Talk by Barry Henwood (author of Field Guide to the Caterpillars of Great Britain and Ireland) - ‘Aspects of the defence mechanisms of butterflies and moths’

11:45am - Talk by Laura Larkin, Conservation Officer of the charity Buglife the Invertebrates Conservation Trust. Laura will be talking about ‘B-Lines in Cornwall’.   
    
12:30pm - Lunch (due to covid precautions the kitchen equipment will not be available therefore it is suggested that you bring a packed lunch) 

14:00pm - Talk by Professor Jeremy Thomas OBE (Emeritus Professor of Ecology, University of Oxford on ‘The Large Blue butterfly’

The talks will be followed by a free period during which we can chat to friends. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available.

The lunch period will give members and non-members the opportunity to pay their subscriptions at the membership desk run by Lisa Slaughter. 

There will also be a number of promotional desks run by Bumblebee Conservation, Seal Research Group, Atropos and Lee Slaughter.

We are keen to get back to normal life after the difficult past two years. Our speakers this year are excellent and I am confident that you will enjoy the day.

Please note the date in your diaries and feel free to bring friends and family.

To protect your fellow members and friends who may be vulnerable please do not invite any non-members if they have not been vaccinated.
